Nigel Owens to headline free cyber resilience conference for businesses
Businesses and organisations are being encouraged to strengthen their cyber resilience at a free conference in Llanelli next month, bringing together leading cyber security experts, industry professionals and guest speaker Nigel Owens MBE.
Hosted by the Wales Cyber Resilience Centre in partnership with the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Dyfed-Powys and Welsh Government, the conference will bring together cyber security experts and organisations to share practical advice, real-world insights and the latest guidance on strengthening cyber resilience. The event is open to organisations of all sizes, from sole traders and charities to larger businesses, with practical advice designed for everyone, not just IT professionals.
The conference will take place at Parc y Scarlets on Thursday 17 September.
With cybercrime continuing to evolve, organisations of every size are facing increasingly sophisticated threats. The conference will provide practical advice, real-life insights and simple steps that businesses and organisations can take to strengthen their cyber resilience and better protect themselves from cybercrime.
While cyber security is often seen as an IT issue, cyber resilience relies on everyone within an organisation. The conference has therefore been designed for business owners, senior leaders, managers, employees and volunteers, offering practical guidance that organisations of all sizes can put into practice.
Attendees will hear from cyber security specialists, representatives from Dyfed-Powys Police and guest speaker Nigel Owens MBE, who will share insights during an afternoon of expert presentations, practical advice and networking opportunities. A complimentary lunch and refreshments will also be provided, offering attendees an opportunity to network before and throughout the event.
Police and Crime Commissioner Dafydd Llywelyn said:
“Cyber criminals don’t just target large organisations. Small businesses, charities and community groups are increasingly being targeted too, making it more important than ever that organisations understand how to protect themselves.
“This conference offers an excellent opportunity to hear from experts, learn practical ways to reduce risk and strengthen resilience against emerging cyber threats.
“Whether you’re a sole trader, a charity, a small business or a larger organisation, I would encourage you to register and make the most of this valuable opportunity.”
The conference is free to attend, but places are limited and advance booking is essential.
