Supporting Road Victims and Advocating for Safer Roads: Road Safety Week 17 -23 November

As part of National Road Safety Week (17–23 November), Police and Crime Commissioner Dafydd Llywelyn is reinforcing efforts to improve road safety across Dyfed-Powys. This year’s theme, “After the Crash – Every Road Victim Counts”, draws attention to the critical support required for those affected by road collisions.

Commissioner Llywelyn has funded a pioneering pilot with the charity Brake, introducing Wales’s first Independent Road Victim Advocate. This initiative offers families bereaved by fatal road collisions essential emotional and practical guidance in navigating the aftermath of these tragic events.

In support of road safety initiatives, PCC Llywelyn will also attend the Westminster Showcase Drop-In on Road Safety Initiatives, hosted by PCC Alison Hernandez. This event provides an opportunity to share best practices, emphasise collaborative approaches to safer roads, and discuss how residents can play an active role in promoting safer driving practices in their communities.
