Police and Crime Commissioner Dafydd Llywelyn is supporting ASB Awareness Week 2024, a national initiative focused on tackling anti-social behaviour (ASB) and promoting safer communities. Running from November 18 to 24, this year’s campaign follows the theme #MakingCommunitiesSafer, with each day spotlighting different aspects of ASB and ways to address it.

ASB Awareness Week is an important opportunity for Dyfed-Powys to reaffirm its commitment to addressing ASB and to highlight the work done in partnership with local services, organisations, and communities. Each day during the week will focus on a unique theme, encouraging conversation, awareness, and action to make our neighbourhoods safer for all.

Monday – Partnership Day
We start the week by celebrating the invaluable partnerships that help address ASB. Working closely with a range of organisations, Dyfed-Powys Police and the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner, collaborate to provide support and resources to tackle ASB effectively. Learn more about our partners here.

Tuesday – Victims Day
Anti-social behaviour can have a profound impact on individuals and families. On Victims Day, we’re highlighting the support available for those affected by ASB through our partnership with victim services. This day is a reminder that support is out there, and no one should feel alone when facing the effects of ASB.

Wednesday – Let's Talk ASB Day
Community voices are essential in the fight against ASB. Today, we’re encouraging open conversations about anti-social behaviour and the importance of reporting incidents. By talking about ASB and sharing resources, we can all play a role in creating safer spaces.

Thursday – Community Heroes Day
On Community Heroes Day, we’re recognising individuals and groups who take a stand against ASB. These everyday heroes contribute to the safety and well-being of their neighbourhoods, and their efforts demonstrate the power of community spirit in tackling local issues.

Friday – Young People's Day
Young people are at the heart of our communities and play a critical role in shaping safer futures. Dyfed-Powys Youth Ambassadors are actively involved in ASB prevention and raising awareness among their peers. On Young People’s Day, we’re celebrating their contributions and encouraging others to join them in making a difference.

Saturday – ASB and Health Day
Anti-social behaviour not only impacts communities but can also have lasting effects on mental health. ASB and Health Day raises awareness of these issues, reminding us of the importance of addressing ASB to improve overall well-being within our communities.

Sunday – Community Action Day
The week concludes with Community Action Day, a call to action for everyone to take part in efforts against ASB. We’re encouraging residents to learn more about the ASB Case Review process, which allows individuals to seek further support if they believe ASB issues have not been adequately addressed. Explore our ASB Case Review process and statistics here.

Commissioner Dafydd Llywelyn commented, “ASB Awareness Week is an opportunity for us to come together and tackle anti-social behaviour that affects our communities. By working with our partners, supporting victims, and engaging with young people, we’re taking steps to create safer and healthier environments across Dyfed-Powys.”

Through ASB Awareness Week 2024, Dyfed-Powys is committed to working together with communities to ensure that every resident feels safe and supported. Follow along with us this week on social media at @DPOPCC, join the conversation with #MakingCommunitiesSafer, and find out how you can get involved.
