Policing Careers Brought to Life for Young People at Police HQ

We would like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported our Youth Open Day at Police Headquarters!

The event brought together young people from across the region for a unique opportunity to explore potential careers in policing and public service. It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm, curiosity, and engagement from all those who attended.

Among the highlights of the day were:

• The ever-popular Police Dogs, who wowed visitors with their skills and demonstrations
• The Cyber Crime Escape Room, giving a hands-on look at how officers tackle digital threats
• A behind-the-scenes talk and tour of the Force Communication Centre, offering a real insight into how 999 and 101 calls are managed
• And our impressive Drone Team, showcasing the cutting-edge technology supporting modern policing

The day was filled with interactive learning, inspiring conversations, and valuable insights into the many different roles and career pathways within policing.

Thank you to all the officers, staff, volunteers and guests, who helped make it a success.
