PCC Encourages Organisations, Schools, and Communities to Join the Campaign to End Violence Against Women and Girls
This 25 November, Police and Crime Commissioner Dafydd Llywelyn is calling on organisations, schools, and community groups across Dyfed-Powys to actively participate in White Ribbon Day, a national campaign to end violence against women and girls.
As part of the campaign, the PCC will be attending a series of events in Carmarthen, including a White Ribbon Walk starting at 1:30 pm. The walk will lead to the Carmarthenshire Enterprise Hub, where the Commissioner will deliver a speech highlighting the vital role communities play in tackling violence and harassment.
Commissioner Llywelyn said: "White Ribbon Day serves as a powerful reminder of the ongoing need to challenge and change the behaviours and attitudes that perpetuate violence against women and girls. By standing together, we can create safer, more supportive communities for everyone."
The event will also feature speeches from the Carmarthenshire Domestic Abuse Service (CarmDAS), local youth representatives, and a showcase of the Youth Council’s docudrama, 'Never Silence the Violence', which addresses the impacts of domestic abuse.
In addition to attending the walk and speeches, the PCC is encouraging organisations and schools to take part by:
- Promoting the White Ribbon Pledge, which commits individuals to never commit, excuse, or remain silent about violence.
- Sharing resources and information to support victims and challenge harmful behaviours.

Commissioner Llywelyn added: "Together, we have the power to inspire change and ensure that violence and harassment have no place in our society. I encourage everyone to participate in White Ribbon Day and help make a difference."
Let’s unite this White Ribbon Day to create a future free from violence.
