As part of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s role, Dafydd Llywelyn must hold the police to account. Since being in office, PCC Dafydd Llywelyn has created several volunteering schemes which aim to promote transparency, accountability and scrutiny in policing.

The Office of Police and Crime Commissioner offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities, working alongside Dyfed-Powys Police and the criminal justice system.

The OPCC are hosting a free online webinar for those who want to learn more about the multiple volunteering schemes, meet the volunteer co-ordinators, and hear from guest speakers. The event, hosted by PCC Dafydd Llywelyn, aims to help people of all ages across the Dyfed-Powys area to find meaning volunteering roles within the criminal justice system.

Participants will hear from all volunteer co-ordinators who will discuss their roles and introduce all the volunteer schemes, and from members of Dyfed-Powys Police on the positive effect of the volunteers.

Dafydd Llywelyn, Police and Crime Commissioner, says:

“The volunteering schemes provide an excellent way for people of all ages to learn new skills, meet new people and contribute to improving the criminal justice system. The volunteers’ work has created great change within Dyfed-Powys Police, for example anti-harm suits are no longer used in custody as a direct result of Custody Independent Scrutiny Panel work. The work of the volunteers is truly invaluable, and I commend them for their hard work and dedication.”
